The exhibition design of Prospects was inspired by the play between the qualities of inside and outside spaces, resulted in a structured routing with spaces of different sizes and atmospheres. Areas reminiscent of museal interiors were at times either disrupted by larger open spaces, or complemented by tiny, intimate rooms parasiting the existing industrial architectural props of the Distribution Center.
For this year’s edition of Art Rotterdam, TPD was involved in designing a new fair centre to express the fair’s connection to the city. The design revolves around creating the indoor equivalent of an outdoor sculptural garden. The design translated into an indoor space of leisure, with a garden-like-quality; a quiet atmosphere for visitors to walk and sit in with interesting view lines.
